Switch over to Embarcadero Federal Credit Union in 3 easy steps!
1. Join the Credit Union
- Have our representative come to your location to become a member - call 415-765-6850, extension 7734
- Apply at a branch
- Apply online
2. Make the Change
- Submit the "Direct Deposit" Form To your employer's Payroll or Human Resources Department to initiate/change your direct deposit to your new account at EMBARCADERO FCU. (You should do this as soon as you receive your direct deposit in your old account so you can have it transferred by the next scheduled deposit.
- Ensure all checks have cleared
Your old checking account or leave enough funds in your old checking account to cover any outstanding debits. Double check maturity dates if transferring a Share Certificate/CD in order to avoid possible penalties - Fill out Request to Transfer Funds
From previous financial institution to Embarcadero Federal Credit Union and turn it in with a voided check or statement.
3. Close your old accounts
- Send written notice
to the financial institution that you are closing the account after your direct deposit and automatic payments are switched over to your new account at EMBARCADERO Federal Credit Union. - Wait for confirmation from your old financial institution that your accounts have been closed. Then, destroy old debit/check cards and old unused checks.
